Workshop on Ethics in Biomedical Research & Good Clinical Practices

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sonal Chitroda, In-charge Principal, LPPIAHST, followed by an inspiring message from Dr. Madhvi Patel, Dean Doctoral Studies & Research, Bhaikaka University.

The workshop featured expert sessions by distinguished speakers. Dr. Barna Ganguly, Professor, Department of Pharmacology, delivered a session on Introduction and Principles of Bioethics in Biomedical Research. Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Professor, Department of Community Medicine, spoke on the WMA Declaration of Helsinki, while Dr. Arun Bhatt elaborated on the National Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research involving Human Participants (ICMR 2017). Dr. Swapnil Agarwal, Dean, PSMC, presented on Good Clinical Practice (GCP), followed by Dr. Chirag Modi, Professor, Department of Microbiology, on Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). The session on Informed Consent in Research was delivered by Dr. Swati Arora Roy, Assistant Professor, APCPH. All sessions underscored the importance of ethical responsibility, confidentiality, and the critical role of Institutional Ethics Committees (IEC) in ensuring compliance in research.

The workshop witnessed active participation from UG and PG students, PhD scholars, faculty members, and researchers, fostering a culture of ethical awareness and academic integrity.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Dipal Bhatt, Assistant Professor, LPPIAHST.

The workshop proved to be an insightful and impactful academic initiative, reinforcing the significance of ethics in biomedical research.
