The third Annual NSS Camp conducted at Ashi village

NSS unit of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, organised a seven-day special camp from 5th to 11th February 2024 at Ashi village of Petlad Taluka. The inaugural ceremony was arranged on 5th February in the gracious presence of Dr. Utpla Kharod, Provost, Bhaikaka University and Dr. Harish Desai, Registrar, Bhaikaka University, Dr. Harihara Prakash, Principal, K M Patel Institute of Physiotherapy. Prof.Shailesh Panchal, Principal, Institute of Nursing Sciences and other dignitaries of Ashi village.

100 volunteers from the K. M Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Institute of Nursing Sciences, L.P Patel Institute of Medical Lab Technology and CAM Institute of Allied Health Sciences and Technology participated in the camp.

During the seven days of camp, NSS volunteers conducted various health and awareness programmes including village mapping and surveys under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Dr Sonal Chitroda and the programme officers of different constituent institutes Ms Binita Patel, Dr. Tejal Virola and Dr.Ashish Gupta. ENT, Dental and Gynaecology-related issues of the community were solved through the medical camp. The adolescent girls of primary school were sensitized about menstrual hygiene practices and adolescent health & well-being.

NSS Volunteers of the University advocated various social issues like healthy habits and personal hygiene, stress management,road safety awareness and cyber crime awareness among the community through street plays. Expert talks on organ donation, blood donation and organic farming were arranged.

On the first day, the camp was inaugurated by the chief guest, Shri Mukeshbhai Patel, Leader of Ashi village, and Shri Alpesh Thakore, Sarpanch, Ashi village in the presence of other dignitaries. The valedictory function of the seven-day NSS camp was organized at Swaminarayan temple on 11th February under the leadership of Dr.Harish Desai, Registrar, Bhaikaka University.

Patel High School, Shri Jayesh Solanki, Principal Paycentre Primary School, Shri Manubhai Parmar, Ex-Principal D. V. Patel High School, Shri Rakesh Patel Ex- Sarpanch Ashi village, Dr. Jyoti Tiwari Controller of Academics, Bhaikaka University, Shri Sailesh Panchal, Principal, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Bhaikaka University were also present
