The Indian Psychiatric Society - Gujarat State Branch and Department of Psychiatry, Bhaikaka University hosts the 5th Mid-Term Conference on psychiatric services

The Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) – Gujarat State Branch and Department of Psychiatry, Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, hosted the 5th Mid-Term Conference, with the theme “Neuropsychiatry “at the Bhikhabhai Auditorium on 6-7th January 2024.
Nearly 110 PG students and psychiatrists from Gujarat participated in the conference. 14 papers and 20 posters were presented on the spectrum of mental healthcare topics.
The chief guest for the conference, Dr. Bharat Panchal, Senior Psychiatrist and Ex-HOD, Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College, Bhavnagar launched the website of Gujarat Psychiatric Society on the first day of the conference.
Dr. Anusha Prabhakaran, Organising Secretary and Head of, the Department of Psychiatric, Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, informed that the website of Gujarat Psychiatric Society has information about 600 psychiatrists in Gujarat.
On this occasion, Guest of Honour RJ Janavi, Programming Head at Red FM, released the book “Stories of Hope." In this book, psychiatrists have shared the inspirational stories of their treated patients to spread a positive message for those living with mental illness.
The function was graced by dignitaries Dr. Savan Shah, President, IPS-Gujarat State Branch, organizing chairperson, Dr. Chintan Raval, Vice President, IPS-Gujarat State Branch, Dr. Saurabh N. Shah, Hon. State Secretary IPS-GSB, Dr. Vishal A. Damani, Hon. Treasurer, IPS-GSB, Dr. Nilima Shah, Hon. Editor IPS-GSB, Dr. Chintan K Solanki, IMM, Past President , IPS-GSB, along with Dr. Himanshu Pandya, Dean Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad Dr. Jitesh Desai, Medical Superintendent, Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad.
