SYNERGY 2025: First National UG Medical students Conference by Pramukhswami Medical College

Pramukhswami Medical College, Constituent  institution of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad successfully hosted SYNERGY 2025, the first National conference for MBBS  students, on 2nd November 2025. Themed “Healing Hands, Inquisitive Minds: Crafting the Physician-Researcher,” the conference was conceived to inspire innovation, critical thinking, and research-oriented learning among aspiring medical professionals.

Organized under the esteemed leadership of Dr. Swapnil Agrawal (Dean,Pramukhswami Medical College ) and Dr. Samir Bhavsar (Associate Dean, Student Affairs), the event featured keynote sessions, research paper presentations, and hands-on workshops led by distinguished national faculty. These sessions aimed to equip participants with contemporary insights, practical competencies, and essential skills vital for excellence in modern healthcare.The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Jitesh Desai, Medical Superintendent, Shree Krishna  Hospital.

The conference commenced with the keynote address by Dr. Alhad Mulkalwar, MBBS from KEM  , Mumbai and Tutor, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, DY Patil University, Pune, titled “MBBS Beyond Textbook – Opportunities for Personal Growth, Research, and Career Pathway.” His inspiring session encouraged students to look beyond academic confines, embrace research, and explore diverse career pathways that integrate compassion with curiosity.

A series of interactive, skill-based workshops formed the academic backbone of SYNERGY 2025. Students engaged in sessions conducted by various consultants of Bhaikaka University, such as Know the Rhythm: Decoding the Electrocardiography (ECG) by Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Kushal Pujara and Team; Airway Made Simple – A Workshop for Future Doctors by Consultant, Department of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Harsh Patel and Team; Ultrasound Unplugged: A Beginner’s Guide to POCUS by Senior Consultant, Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care, Dr. Abhishekh Prajapati and Team; Osteoid: A Splinting and Casting Workshop by Consultant, Department of Orthopedics, Dr. Manan Shroff and Team; and Steps of Sexual Assault Survivors’ Examination and Related Issues in Day-to-Day Practice by Professor and Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, Dr. Arijit Datta and Team. Each workshop was designed to translate theory into practice, nurturing confidence, competence, and clinical acumen among participants.

Dr. Parthasarthi, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College, Trichy, conducted a highly engaging and interactive workshop titled “AI: Unlocking New Frontiers.” He highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence in medical education. Students enjoyed hands-on learning sessions using various AI tools such as ChatGPT and NotebookLM, gaining valuable insights into how AI can enhance research and learning.

In addition to workshops, the conference hosted research papers and poster presentations that offered students a platform to share their original work and innovative ideas. These sessions fostered meaningful academic exchange between delegates, faculty, and mentors, reinforcing the importance of research in medical education.

SYNERGY 2025 truly served as a dynamic platform for delegates to explore diverse aspects of medicine, exchange ideas, and connect with peers and mentors from across the nation. The spirit of inquiry and collaboration permeated every session, embodying the event’s vision of shaping the next generation of physician-researchers.

In his concluding address, Dr. Swapnil Agrawal emphasized the significance of nurturing research aptitude early in medical training, while Dr. Samir Bhavsar applauded the student-led initiative for its professionalism, creativity, and impact. Under the dedicated guidance of Organizing Secretaries Yajurva Mehta and Rutam Vaishnav, the event reflected the unity and enthusiasm of the student community, setting a new benchmark for academic excellence at Bhaikaka University.
