Shri Atul Patel said that It is one of the largest set up in the charotar region, spread over 18000 square feet area, processing a huge number of tests daily. It is a dedicated diagnostic centre that houses all the labs and the blood centre. The centre is located centrally from the main hospital, cardiac and cancer centre which benefits the patient for easy access.

According to Dr Mustafa, the Centre Head, the centre is one of its kind amongst medical colleges where the lab functions as a single entity instead of different departments. It has a central common processing room and a common reporting room which allows for the pooling of resources for more efficient utilization.

He added that the centre houses the reception and the Collection area on the ground floor, a NABH accredited Blood Centre with advanced facilities for apheresis and stem cell collection. The second floor has various labs and reporting rooms and the third floor has a molecular facility.

The NABL-accredited labs, run 24X7 and caters to roughly 1000+ samples per day, processing and releasing close to 2500 tests per day. The labs follow the international standards for quality in the testing laboratories ( ISO 15189 standards) to ensure that patients are provided accurate and reliable reports.

The NABH-accredited blood centre caters close to 7000 donors and issues close to 11000 blood components every year, with the sole provider of single donor platelets in the whole district.
