Recognizing Nursing Faculty from the Charotar Region

Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Anand Milkcity (RAM), held a special event at Bhikhabhai Auditorium on September 5th, on occasion of Teachers' Day, to honor the nursing faculty of Charotar Region. This is the first event of this kind where nursing educators of the region, were formally recognized.

The event highlighted the crucial role of nursing educators in shaping the future of healthcare. Chief Guest Shri I.A. Kadiwala (Vice President, Gujarat Nursing Council, Ahmedabad) and Guest of Honor Dr. Pragna Dhabi, (Registrar, Gujarat Nursing Council, Ahmedabad) graced the occasion.

The ceremony was chaired by Shri Shailesh Panchal, In-charge Principal, Institute of Nursing Sciences, Bhaikaka University, and Rotarian Shri Jeevan Akhouri, Head of Accounts Department, Bhaikaka University. The 25 nominated faculty members from 13 institutes were felicitated along with principals.

A panel of judges, led by Dr. Pragna Dhabi, Registrar, Gujarat Nursing Council, selected five outstanding faculty members for special recognition. These educators were awarded shields during the ceremony that highlighted their dedication and impact in the field of nursing education.

Rotarian Shri Shyam Bhatnagar, President, RAM emphasized the significance of acknowledging nursing educators. He noted that in previous years, honors had been given to Industrial Training Institute instructors and teachers of specially-abled children. Bhatnagar highlighted the profound emotional impact of such recognitions and underscored the essential role nursing educators play in training compassionate healthcare professionals.

Dr. Abhay Dharamsi, Provost of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, said that the university supported the initiative and proposed expanding it to the state level. The university management also suggested to  organize  short-term residential programs aimed at addressing the training and motivational needs of the nursing faculty.

Dr. Pragna Dhabi and Shri I.A. Kadiwala expressed their gratitude to RAM and Bhaikaka University for their efforts. They pledged to support the expansion of these recognitions across Gujarat.
