PSMC Hosts State-Level Workshop on Protocol Writing

The Department of Pharmacology at Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, organized a one-day state-level workshop on “Protocol Writing” for postgraduate Pharmacology students on June 16, 2025. The workshop, organized under the leadership of Dr. Alpa Gor, Organizing Secretary and Head of the Pharmacology Department, was attended by nearly 50 delegates from various medical colleges across Gujarat.

The event was graced by  Dr. Himanshu Pandya (Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College), along with esteemed external resource persons Dr. Arun Bhatt (President, Clininvent Research Private Limited, and past Medical Director of Novartis India and President of the Indian Society of Clinical Research) and Dr. Mira Desai (Clinical Pharmacologist, CDSCO expert panel member, DSMB Member for Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials). Internal resource faculties included Dr. Swapnil Agarwal (Additional Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College, Professor & Head, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology) and Dr. Barna Ganguly (Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Pramukhswami Medical College).

The workshop covered interactive sessions on the framework of protocol development, regulatory guidelines, and essential elements of research protocols for both academic and clinical studies. Participants engaged in group-based tasks, analyzing key components and common pitfalls, culminating in presentations and Q&A sessions.
