PSMC Alumnus Dr. Harikrishna Doshi Appointed Co-Chair of Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland
Bhaikaka University is proud to share that Dr. Harikrishna Doshi, a student of the very first batch of Pramukhswami Medical College (PSMC) (MBBS Batch of 1987), has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery (SCTS) of Great Britain and Ireland.
Dr. Doshi, who has been based in Glasgow, Scotland, for the past 20 years, currently serves as a Consultant Cardiac and Transplant Surgeon at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. This prestigious leadership role will enable him to contribute significantly to shaping the future of adult cardiac surgery across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery represents surgeons from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, and plays a vital role in advancing clinical standards, research, education, workforce planning, and national cardiac surgery programmes.
Adding to this remarkable achievement, Dr. Doshi was honoured with an Outstanding Achievement Award by the Scottish Asian business community in December 2025 for his exceptional contributions to heart transplantation. During his acceptance speech, he also raised awareness about the importance of organ donation, reflecting his continued commitment to patient care and public service.
We would also like to acknowledge Dr. Monika Doshi (MBBS Batch of 1988), an accomplished Anaesthetist in Scotland and fellow PSMC alumna, whose unwavering support and partnership have been an integral part of Dr. Doshi’s journey.
Bhaikaka University and the PSMC Alumni Association extend their heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Harikrishna Doshi on this outstanding accomplishment and wish both Dr. Harikrishna Doshi and Dr. Monika Doshi continued success, good health, and happiness in all their future endeavors.
