Pharmacovigilance Week Celebration 2025
A week-long celebration of Pharmacovigilance Week 2025, on the theme “Your Safety, Just a Click Away: Report to PvPI,” commenced on 17th September 2025 at the Department of Pharmacology, Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad. The program is being held under the auspices of the Pharmacovigilance Program of India (PvPI), with the goal of promoting safe medicine use and strengthening the culture of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting among healthcare professionals as well as patients.
The inauguration was marked by a prayer and lamp lighting ceremony, led by Dr. Swapnil Agarwal, Dean, Pramukhswami Medical College. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Manisha Gohel, Head of the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine; Dr. Alpa Gor, Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Coordinator of PvPI; faculty members; and residents of the Pharmacology Department.
Through the course of the week, a series of activities and outreach initiatives are being organized to highlight the importance of timely reporting of adverse drug reactions—a vital step towards ensuring patient safety and improving therapeutic outcomes. After the inauguration, the Pharmacology team extended the awareness drive to Shree Krishna Hospital, directly interacting with healthcare providers to encourage active participation in ADR reporting.
The initiative underlines our collective responsibility to safeguard patients, enhance the quality of healthcare, and contribute to a robust national pharmacovigilance system.
