National Sports Day Celebration at Bhaikaka University
On 29th August 2025, Bhaikaka University came together to celebrate National Sports Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.
The celebration, hosted at the University’s Activity Centre, saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff across all constituent colleges. This year, the focus was on indoor games – Table Tennis, Badminton, and Chess – giving students a platform to showcase not just their physical agility but also their mental sharpness.
The program began with an inaugural ceremony graced by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Additional Dean, and Dr. Manisha Gohel, Sports Committee Incharge, who highlighted the importance of sports in building teamwork, resilience, and holistic growth. They also paid heartfelt tribute to Major Dhyan Chand, reminding everyone of his inspiring legacy of dedication and excellence.
The competitions were spirited, with students demonstrating remarkable skill, discipline, and true sportsmanship. The atmosphere remained vibrant throughout the day, as peers cheered for each other and celebrated every hard-earned point and victory.
Winners and runners-up in each category were honored at the conclusion of the event, encouraging them to pursue sports alongside academics. More importantly, the celebration created a sense of togetherness among all colleges, making it a truly collective effort – the first of its kind at Bhaikaka University.
The success of the event reflected the University’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who balance knowledge with fitness, values, and teamwork.
