KMPIP, BU hosted a spectacular Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh in Anand District.

KMPIP hosted the Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh in collaboration with Special Olympics Bharat. The Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh was held on 27th February 2024 in Anand District. Mr. Jigneshbhai Thakkar (Growth and Development Officer)and Dr. R Harihara Prakash (Principal, KMPIP) were present to kickstart the event. Athletes from various backgrounds showcased their incredible talents in a wide range of sports. The event featured sports such as Boccee, 100m run and walk, 200m run, 400m run, 800m run, 50m run and walk, 25m run and walk, cycling, softball throw, shot put, long jump, badminton, volleyball, and basketball.

 

Dr. R Harihara Prakash (Principal, KMPIP), provided his support and guidance for the event. Dr. Anjali Wadhwa was the faculty Coordinator from KMPIP and 110 volunteers from KMPIP selflessly dedicated their time and efforts to support the athletes at the Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh. Their contribution played a crucial role in making the event a huge success. It's incredible to see the power of teamwork and community spirit in action.

There was a campaign on election awareness by the Jilla Samaj Suraksha team, led by Mr. Nayka. The Jilla Samaj Suraksha team demonstrated and provided information about the EVM machines and how to use them. It's great to see efforts being made to promote awareness among people with disabilities who are 18 years and above.

 

The atmosphere was electric as participants gave their all, demonstrating their skills and determination. It was heartwarming to witness the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the athletes. The event not only provided a platform for athletes to excel in their respective sports but also promoted inclusivity and unity. The Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh was a celebration of abilities, breaking barriers, and inspiring others to embrace their full potential.

 

A memorable event that brought joy and empowerment to all involved. The Special Olympics Khel Mahakumbh truly highlighted the power of sports to unite, inspire, and create lasting memories.
