Doctors at the Gynecology Dept of SKH, teaching hospital of BU removed a 3kg ovarian cyst from a 50-year-old and 34 -year-old woman, respectively

The 50-year-old native of Banswara, Rajasthan was suffering from abdominal pain and excessive bleeding. She consulted the gynecology department of Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad as advised by one of her relatives who had taken treatment earlier. 
 

The gynecologist, Dr. Nitin Raithatha and Dr. Rumi Bhattacharjee of Shee Krishna Hospital teaching hospital of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad performed a hysteroscopy and removed the 3 kg ovarian cyst and uterus. The concessional treatment was given to the woman under the Aashirwad Yojna of the hospital due to her poor financial condition.

 

In another case, a 34-year-old, a native of Anand District was suffering from excessive bleeding due to an ovarian cyst. She was referred to Shree Krishna Hospital, Karamsad from the private hospital of Nadiad. The gynecologist, Dr. Nitin Raithathta removed the 3 kg ovarian cyst by performing surgery.

 

The patient belonged to a poor family and was taking the matter casually even though the symptoms had started developing over the last two years. The blood transfusion was done due to excessive bleeding. The treatment was done under Ayushman Bharat Yojna due to the poor financial condition of the patient.

 

Dr. Raithatha said that the surgeries of the two women were very complicated and involved a lot of risks as the nutritional status of the patients was very poor and the hemoglobin was as low as seven grams.
