Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health (APCPH), in collaboration with the Sarpanch of Ghuteli Village and the local Community Health Officer (CHO), organized a community engagement initiative to mark Diabetes Day, focusing on prevention, awareness, and lifestyle management.
Dr. Deepak Sharma, Director of APCPH, highlighted the critical role of awareness and early prevention in combating diabetes. Dr. Bhalendu Vaishnav, Professor and Head of Internal Medicine, explained a holistic approach to diabetes management, emphasizing four pillars: Aahar (Diet), Vihaar (Lifestyle & Activity), Aacharan (Behaviour & Conduct), and Vichaar (Thought & Mindset).
Dr. Priya Mistri provided practical guidance on diabetes and introduced the community to the SPARSH program for health screening and support services.
Master of Public Health students Dr. Vidhi Patel, Dr. Isha Tyagi, Dhruvi Parekh, along with APCPH staff, performed a Nukkad Natak, effectively conveying health education and SPARSH services in an engaging and interactive manner.
