Breast Cancer Awareness Week Observed at SKH, teaching hospital of BU
Shree Krishna Hospital observed Breast Cancer Awareness Week from 9th to 15th October 2025 with a series of impactful educational activities aimed at promoting early detection and breast health among women.
The initiative was jointly organized by the Waymade Institute of Nursing Sciences, and Shri G.H. Patel School of Nursing, in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Shree Krishna Hospital.
Throughout the week, postgraduate students from the Waymade Institute of Nursing Sciences conducted live Breast Self-Examination (BSE) demonstrations at the Gynaecology OPD for female patients and their relatives. The interactive sessions focused on creating awareness about the importance of early detection and equipping women with practical skills to perform BSE confidently and accurately.
The program witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 175 women actively participating in the sessions. Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, particularly the clear, hands-on approach adopted by the student demonstrators.
