Bhaikaka University, Karamsad in collaboration with the Indian Society of Head and Neck Radiology (ISHNR), organized Mid-Term CME program on April 19–20. The Department of Radiodiagnosis of Bhaikaka University, Karamsad, hosted the event, which emphasized the integration of immersive hands-on training with high-quality academic sessions, underscoring ISHNR's commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in head and neck radiology.
The CME was held under the leadership of Dr. Jayesh Bhatt, the organizing chairman; Dr. Viral Patel, the organizing secretary and head of the radiology department; and Dr. Shridhar Dave, the co-organizing secretary. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries including Dr. Hemant Patel (Secretary, AOSR), Dr. Himanshu Pandya (Dean, PSMC), Dr. Chidambarnathan (President, ISHNR), Dr. Diva Shah (Secretary, ISHNR), and Dr. Gaurav Goswami (Secretary, Gujarat IRIA). The event witnessed a significant participation of over 170 radiologists, along with residents and other healthcare professionals from across India.
The first day focused on enhancing practical skills in head and neck imaging through an engaging workshop and boot camp. Participants benefited from case-based learning, interactive reviews, and demonstrations led by both regional and national experts. A unique aspect of the workshop was an in-house developed model that facilitated hands-on intervention training at the New Advanced Simulation Centre of the University. The boot camp proved particularly beneficial for younger professionals, providing valuable feedback and mentorship opportunities.
On April 20, a scientific program highlighting lectures by experts and research presentations was arranged at Madhubhan resort. Renowned faculty delivered talks on a wide array of topics within head and neck radiology, fostering dialogue between experienced and emerging professionals. The academic sessions also included impressive paper and poster presentations by students and junior radiologists
Dr. Viral Patel commented, “It was an honor to host the Mid-Term CME and contribute to the professional development of our radiology community. The exchange of ideas and expertise was truly enriching.” The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony and the distribution of certificates.
