In celebration of International Yoga Day 2026, Bhaikaka University organised a series of yoga-centric events aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and holistic health among students, faculty members, and staff.
Following the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Ayush, the university actively participated in the district-level Mass Yoga Initiative organised in collaboration with the Anand District Administration on June 21 at Pramukhswami Urban Community Hall, Jitodia. Students, NSS Coordinators and Faculty Members from all constituent Institutions of Bhaikaka University participated enthusiastically in the large-scale yoga session, reaffirming their commitment to wellness and healthy living.
As part of the week-long celebrations, the university also organised a unique Yoga Garba Celebration on June 16, 2026, at the Multipurpose Nursing Hall, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Manisha Gohel, Convener of the Women Development Unit, PSMC.
A total of 75 participants, including students, faculty members, and staff, took part in the programme. The session was led by renowned yoga expert Ms. Dipti Vadodaria from Anand, who introduced participants to an innovative fusion of yogic postures and traditional Garba movements. The blend of rhythmic music, mindful movement, and yoga created a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
Continuing the celebrations, Bhaikaka University organised a Yogasana and Suryanamaskar Competition on June 17, 2026, at the Multipurpose Hall of the Nursing College. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members representing various constituent institutions.
The Yogasana Competition was coordinated by Dr. Ushma Parikh and judged by Dr. Utpala Kharod, Dr. Jyoti Mannari, and Dr. Manisha Gohel. The Suryanamaskar Competition was coordinated by Dipali Patel and judged by Dr. Ushma Parikh, Dipali Patel, and Jayati Mankad.
Participants were evaluated on posture accuracy, stability, presentation, difficulty level, rhythm, breathing techniques, and overall performance.
The competitions were organised in three age categories: up to 30 years, 31–45 years, and 45 years and above. The winners were felicitated with prizes, while all participants received certificates of participation.
