Bhaikaka University hosted its Annual Sports and Cultural Fest, TARANG–2026, from 16th to 20th February, with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty of its constituent institutes, including the Institute of Nursing Sciences & Shri G. H. Patel School of Nursing, K. M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Smt. L. P. Patel Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Technology, and Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health. Organised in collaboration with the NSS Unit under the theme “Youth in Action: Fitness, Culture & Nation,” the fest promoted physical fitness, teamwork, cultural expression, and sportsmanship.
The event was formally declared open by Dr. Abhay Dharamsi, Provost of Bhaikaka University, in the presence of dignitaries including Dr. Jyoti Tiwari, Registrar, Dr. Jitesh Desai, Medical Superintendent of Shree Krishna Hospital, Dr. Swapnil Agarwal, Dean of Pramukhswami Medical College, Dr Nirav Vaghela, Principal of K. M. Patel Institute of Physiotherapy, Prof Shany Thomas In charge Principal of Institute of Nursing Sciences, , Dr. Sonal Chitroda In charge- Principal of Smt. L. P. Patel Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Technology, and Dr. Deepak Sharma, Director of Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health, along with Vice-Principals, NSS program coordinators, and faculty members.
The inauguration featured a symbolic balloon release, a torch run by distinguished student athletes, and a ceremonial 100-meter race, setting an energetic tone for the five-day event.
The sports segment included track and field events, team sports, and indoor games for students and faculty alike. Highlights included 100-meter sprints, relay races, tug-of-war, cricket and volleyball leagues, badminton, chess, carrom, and E-sports competitions. External referees and judges ensured fairness, while grand dinners during the cultural nights fostered camaraderie and inter-institutional bonding.
The fest concluded with a vibrant cultural program featuring dance, music, mime, and a fashion show, showcasing creativity and talent from all institutes. The prize distribution ceremony for sports was organised in two phases: winners of indoor games and faculty competitions were felicitated on the first day of the cultural event, while winners of outdoor sports were honoured on the second day. Participants received trophies and medals in recognition of their achievements, with the overall championship trophy awarded to the Institute of Nursing Sciences & Shri G. H. Patel School of Nursing for outstanding performance across sports and cultural events.
