Bhaikaka University and Psychiatric Society jointly organised Qualitative Methods Workshop
A significant two-day workshop on "Qualitative Methods in Mental Health Research" was conducted on April 11-12, 2025, through a fruitful collaboration between the Research Subcommittee of the Psychiatric Society of the Western Zone and the Department of Psychiatry, Pramukhswami Medical College, Bhaikaka University, Karamsad
The workshop was led by Dr. Amol Dongre (Professor of Community Medicine,Sri Manakula Vinayagar Medical College and Hospital, Puducherry; MD Community Medicine, MPS, MHPE (UK)), a renowned expert in the field of qualitative research. He was ably supported by co-faculty Dr. Jagdish Varma
(Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Shree Krishna Hospital) and Ms.Jaishree Deepak Ganjiwale (Assistant Professor of Biostatistics, Department of Community Medicine, Pramukhswami Medical College), who enriched the sessions with their insights and experience.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 30 delegates, including psychiatrists from various medical institutes across Gujarat and Maharashtra. Participants engaged in an immersive, hands-on experience, delving into qualitative data collection and analysis methods.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating a strong demand for similar academic initiatives in the future.
