Amrita Patel Centre for Public Health (APCPH) ,Bhaikaka University, Karamsad hosted seminar on the critical concept of "One Health" on November 25, 2025, emphasizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health. The interdisciplinary event brought together experts from human medicine, veterinary science, dairy technology, and environmental sciences to explore strategies for integrated global well-being.
The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Deepak Sharma, Director of APCPH, who welcomed the distinguished speakers and delegates. Dr. Sharma highlighted the growing relevance of the "One Health" approach in contemporary public health, stressing the importance of collaboration across disciplines to address emerging challenges.
During the technical sessions, Prof. (Dr.) J.B. Prajapati discussed the complexities of dairy product safety and demonstrated the use of advanced technologies such as Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy to combat food fraud while addressing common misconceptions regarding milk sustainability.Dr. B.C. Parmar highlighted that 75 percent of emerging infectious diseases are zoonotic, underlining the need for coordinated efforts to prevent transmission at the human-animal interface.
Dr. Prakrutik Bhavsar introduced innovative approaches to rapid food safety testing, including smartphone-based biosensors and Next-Generation Sequencing technologies.
Shri Babubhai C. Patel shared industrial insights on implementing Zero Liquid Discharge systems, emphasizing that effective pollution control is a primary safeguard for public health.
Dr. Manisha Gohel connected urbanization, antimicrobial resistance, and the risk of re-emerging pandemics, stressing the need for integrated surveillance and preparedness systems.
